The martingale collar is also known as a limited-slip collar. Reasons to use a martingale collar on a dog include excessive pulling and frequent escapes from a regular collar. Martingale collars have a loop attachment that tightens as dogs pull, but they will only tighten to a certain point to avoid excessive neck pressure and choking.
